Speaking with my wife, Tatiana, recently, we were discussing why I make bread?

I do it for myself because it is cathartic while also slightly ceremonial--a connection to mine, and our collective, ancestry. I do it because it will soon be a forgotten artform and I think it is VERY important to keep the skill and tradition alive--for bread is uniquely HUMAN. I bake for others because there is simply nothing like hearing the simple joy when someone says, "oh, it's still warm", upon receiving a fresh slice. I bake bread for our family--because food made in the home is generally healthier and made from real ingredients, without additives; because I want my girls to know how to cook and bake and to be self-reliant in all aspects and in all ways. And I want them to embody the thousands of years of others who did the same before us.

She paused and told me, "That's what you need to put on the website."
